Mid & West Wales Coast & Mountains (2 Nights)

Route overview

This route takes in the best of West & Mid West Wales roads and views. The route consists of mountain roads, back roads and small fishing villages and unspoilt coves. It avoids the generally overly busy areas of Pembrokeshire & Ceredigion and shows you the lesser known spots away from the crowds. The route covers 2 nights away with a waterside camp the 1st night, and a mountain campsite the 2nd night.

Day one.

The ride takes a westerly run along the M4 until we peel off up over our first mountain pass into Carmarthenshire mountains before we head West again out of Carmarthenshire and into Pembrokeshire. We’ve another mountain road to enjoy before we head back South West to head out onto the Pembs coast and meander our way through the small fishing villages and amazing coastal lanes and roads.

The route then overnights in a small village right on the coast with Fish & Chips (veg options available) on the doorstep and a couple of pubs for refreshments.

Day two.

Starts with a trip north from Pembs into Ceredigion as we snake our way along the Welsh coastline on the coast road enjoying the views and seal and dolphin spotting if the weather is right. As the route heads north we’ll pass through more colourful fishing villages. We’ll then have another mountain road into a remote section of Mid Wales before finally back towards the coast for the final pass into 2nd overnight of Dolgellau.

Day three.

We’ll begin to head south back down through the spine of Mid Wales, taking in some of the best views and the winding mountain roads. We’ll avoid the main roads back down as much as possible and spend the day admiring the views and spotting birds of prey circling overhead.

Eventually we end up in Brecon, where the route heads South along the A470 back down to the Midlands link road (A465) back down to the M4 for you to head home
